Trade Profit and Loss Calculator

Compare a planned entry and exit scenario for a long or short position without treating the estimate as a forecast.

Trade PnL+60,00 $
Return on margin+60,0 %
Fees1,00 $
Net result+59,00 $

Round trip means entry and exit combined. If unknown, keep 0.1%.

How the calculator works

long PnL = position size × (exit − entry) ÷ entry

short PnL = position size × (entry − exit) ÷ entry

The calculator applies the price change in the selected direction to the position size. Realised PnL can differ after fees, funding, spread, slippage and currency conversion.

Fees, funding, spread, slippage, contract specifications and venue rules can change the realised result. Recheck those details before placing an order.

Inputs to check before calculating

Inputs

  • Long or short direction.
  • Entry and exit prices.
  • Position quantity or contract size.
  • Fees, funding and settlement currency where relevant.
  1. Enter values from the instrument and account you are evaluating.
  2. Run the calculation and check its units and assumptions.
  3. Compare the estimate with the venue contract, fees and risk rules.

Result: A planning estimate based only on the entered assumptions, not a trade recommendation.

Frequently asked questions

Is the displayed PnL net of every trading cost?

Not necessarily. Check which costs are included in the entered values and subtract venue-specific fees, funding, spread and slippage as needed.

Does the calculator place or recommend a trade?

No. It performs a planning calculation from the values you enter. It does not connect to an account, execute an order or provide personalised advice.

Calculator results are estimates for planning and education. Verify contract specifications, fees and rules with your broker or exchange.
