Use the Multi Timeframe Trend Indicator in Midas

Five minutes up, four hours down, and you trade against the older trend without noticing it.

Checking timeframes with hands

Switching eats up time, and the big picture in your head never adds up.

general view of MultiTrend: trend history panel above the chart and traffic lights over timeframes

MultiTrend is a separate traffic light indicator that shows the trend direction across all selected timeframes without forcing you to manually change the chart. Each timeframe has two marks: local trend on the left, global trend on the right. Green trend is up, red trend is down, yellow sideways, so there is no clear trend.

Why it matters: identifying the trend or a sideways market is a core trading task. Conflicting timeframes are a common reason for poor entries; the traffic lights immediately show whether timeframes agree or a lower timeframe is moving against a higher one. A separate panel above the chart shows the history of local trend changes on the selected timeframe.

Why MultiTrend is useful

Correctly identifying the trend or a sideways market is one of a trader's primary tasks.

MultiTrend removes the need to reconcile charts manually: it shows local and global trends, including sideways conditions, across all selected timeframes at once.

What the traffic-light board shows

The traffic light shows the selected timeframes: on the left, each timeframe displays a local trend, on the right - a global trend.

  • Green is an uptrend.
  • Red is a downtrend.
  • Yellow means the market is sideways, with no clear trend.

The panel above the chart

The panel above the chart shows the history of the local trend change on the selected timeframe: you can see when the trend reversed and how long it has already held.

How to use MultiTrend

A simple rule: follow the direction of most higher timeframes, and do not trade against the global trend merely because a lower timeframe produced a signal. A yellow column means a sideways market, where boundary bounces are more relevant than breakouts.

MultiTrend is included in the 3-month tariff, and the two-indicator demo does not.
